Perched high above the CBD on the 63rd floor of 1 Raffles Place, 1-Altitude is the world’s highest alfresco bar, which is a major draw in itself. The rooftop garden setting features a bustling bar serving up chic cocktails and bubbles, a dancefloor and stage setup for local bands and DJs, and low tables next to glass barriers to allow for views out to the city and bay spread out below.
Why you should come here:
The scenery here is absolutely stupendous, as you have uninterrupted 360-degree views of all of Singapore spread out below you including Marina Bay, the Singapore flyer and the skyscrapers of the CBD. The atmosphere is classy and cool, the music is chilled out early in the evening for sunset sessions, and after dark things pick up with glamourous peeps pouring in and DJs throwing down boss beats that reverberate through the state-of-the-art sound system.
What we love:
Whenever we have guests visiting from out of town, this is where we take them for the quintessential Singapore sunset experience. It may be a tad pricier than other bars in town, but you get what you pay for in terms of the sky-high setting, expertly crafted cocktails and gourmet bar bites. Try the Monster Mojito packed with an explosion of fruit including raspberry, lychee, strawberry and watermelon along with the usual rum, mint and lime. They also have great bar snacks like the Tajima Wagyu Sliders and Cheese Croquettes.
UJ Tidbit:
Some things to note are that the dress code is smart casual, so no shorts, sandals or singlets, and they also have a cover charge of $30 per person from 6pm to 9pm and $35 per person after 9pm, which includes one drink. We suggest booking a table for sunset and ordering a bottle to share. If you don’t manage to finish the bottle, you can keep it behind the bar for next time, which will also waive the cover charge on your next visit.
