The images and news don’t do justice to what is going on in the Horn of Africa.
Nearly half a million children are at risk of dying from malnutrition and disease. Twelve million people are starving. Livestock are lifeless and dying. Thousands of Somalis are fleeing the country in hopes of food and water – many of them walking for days in the sweltering heat. Tens of thousands have already starved to death. This is the worst famine that Somalia has seen in 60 years. (Read up to date news about the situation in Somalia)
Being so removed from the situation, we tend to forget how lucky we are. We want to try to do as much as we can to help.
