KAMPONG GLAM – A.R.C. stands for Academy, Roastery and Cafe, which pretty much sums up what you can expect at this artisan coffee spot. Look for the huge coffee-themed mural painted on the outside wall, and then step inside where clean white brick walls set the tone and the smell of freshly roasting coffee beans wafts out of the back of the cafe, tempting you for what is about to come. There is also a coffee academy upstairs where you can learn latte art and barista skills from the pros.
Why you should come here:
Each and every one of the staff members here has won some sort of coffee competition if not multiple competitions including the Singapore Barista Championship, Singapore National Brewers Cup, and the Singapore Latte Art Championship. General Manager John Ryan Ting has also competed and judged at the World Barista Championships. This means that you’ve got a super passionate crew on hand to explain all the ins and outs of your java from bean all the way to cup.
What we love:
With such a talented crew behind the coffee bar, you can be sure that each cuppa is poured perfectly using only the highest quality beans roasted in house. They also have a great food menu that consists of brunch-worthy dishes like the Ray’s Ben, their take on eggs benedict with poached eggs, silky hollandaise sauce and 8-hour slow-braised pulled pork on top of housemade brioche. The Seafood Risotto is another good bet with ample portions of mussels, prawns and scallops mixed in with the creamy arborio rice.

You can pick up bags of their house-roasted beans here, as well as cute Loveramics coffee cups so that you can enjoy premium brews in style at home. The beans change regularly depending on what is in season at the time, so on any given visit you could have your choice of high-quality beans from places like Tanzania, Costa Rica or Guatemala.
