TANJONG PAGAR - Awash in blush pink and filled with enough sweet treats to keep you flying high on a sugar rush for days, Cake Spade is the brainchild of baker Zenn Eng, and a favourite among the sweet tooth set. Like the name suggests, the cakes are the main draw here, although you will also find all manner of tarts, crumbles, brownies, cupcakes, and their famous cake milkshakes.
Why you should come here:
These are some of the best cheesecakes we’ve had in Singapore, and they come in all flavours and styles like their Oreo Cookie Crumb Cheesecake, Brownie Bottom Cheesecake, and Speculoos Cookie Butter Cheesecake. Their cake milkshakes are also off the hook, both in looks and pure sweets overload. Take for example the Unicone, a rich vanilla ice cream shake served in a Mason jar topped with red velvet cake slices, coloured cookies, rainbow sprinkles held onto the glass with a Nutella paste, and a towering crown of pink cotton candy.
What we love:
Our favourite cake here is definitely the Red Velvet Cheesecake for its dense crimson-coloured cheesecake flavoured with cocoa, crunchy Oreo cookie crust and rich vanilla frosting. Honestly though, all it takes is one look at the menu to make your mouth start watering. All the cakes are rich and decadent, and you can order them by the slice with a cup of coffee or tea or place a special order for a whole cake.
If you want to order a whole cake for a special event (or even just to indulge in yourself), be sure to put your order in at least 3 days in advance for single cakes and one week in advance for multiple cakes. And be sure to check out the FAQs on their website to learn more about serving sizes and great tips on storing your cake.
Single slices of cake start at $6.50, cake milkshakes go for about $14.90, and customised cakes start at $60.
