TANGLIN - Grandeur is a given at Manhattan, an opulent New York style bar on the second level of Regent Singapore featuring luxe leather armchairs and sofas, marble topped tables and the world’s first in-hotel rickhouse where they age spirits and craft cocktails in American oak casks. The inspiration for the decor and drinks comes from the golden age of cocktails in the 19th century, so you’ll find classic concoctions as well as a few forgotten libations from that era. There are also gourmet bar bites on offer that reflect the diverse culinary melting pot of New York.
Why you should come here:
Manhattan consistently rakes in the awards including a spot on the Top 10 Best International Hotel Bars 2015 in the Spirited Awards® by Tales of the Cocktail®, and more recently the 11th spot on the World’s 50 Best Bars 2016 list by Drinks International. After one visit we’re sure there will be no doubt in your mind that the bar is deserving of every accolade it gets because the decor is slick, the cocktails are made with flair and finesse, and the bar bites are amped up American comfort food at its best.
They've also got the perfect excuse to come by on a Sunday. Their Adults Only Sunday Cocktail Brunch is pure indulgence. Enjoy fresh oysters, bagels, eggs, cheese, fish n' chips, foie gras and more paired with your choice of 6 free-flow cocktails. They also have a DIY Bloody Mary Room with a huge variety of hot sauces and other condiments.
What we love:
We love the vibe and ambiance at Manhattan. It’s just such a different scene than your usual Singapore spots. Best of all, the room is dark so you really do lose track of time here. This is a great way to spend your Sunday.
Avoid disappointment and make a reservation because this place gets pretty busy. If it’s a special occasion or a group event, book yourself into the Rockefeller Room, which is hidden behind a secret door and can seat 16 people or 30 people when joined up with the Library.
