BOAT QUAY - Located in the heart of Boat Quay on Circular Road, O Comptoir specialises in crepes and cocktails and it is open day and night. The menu features an enticing range of authentic buckwheat crepes, classic French dishes, wines that come from indie suppliers in France and boozy concoctions. Of course, we had to try a bit of everything to suss out what was good – we loved every bite and every sip!
Why you should come here
This is a lovely spot to share reasonably priced bottles of wines and eat delicious crepes, both savory and sweet, if that’s what you’re in the mood for.
They have great value brunch sets for $32 which include Fresh Orange Juice, 1 x Hot Beverage (coffee / tea / hot chocolate), 1 x Savoury Gelette or Crepe, 1 x Sweet Hot Crepe, and 1 x last Hot Beverage. If you’re in a group, we highly suggest sitting at the high bar tables inside.
What we love
The authenticity of the crepes. We may not be crepe connoisseurs but we’re pretty sure we trust our taste buds and these were delicious. We also love that they’re made with original buckwheat flour.
For the finer points, the location is great since Circular Road has a good buzz, the wine list was tempting and had a great range of wines, the prices were pretty reasonable and the service was decent.
For the crepes, we loved the ‘I Did It My Way’: Goat Cheese, Walnuts, Honey, Pear ($19), which was a delicious mix of sweet, creamy, crunchy and savory, and the The Cheese Ambition: Comte Cheese, Berry Preserve, Prosciutto ($23), another pleasant blend of fresh, tasty flavours. We ended the meal with Nutella Rendez-Vous : Nutella, Praline ($7), and we’ve gotta say, there’s nothing like a good Nutella crepe!
They’re open late on weekends and have DJs hitting the decks in the evenings to liven up the vibe - so it could be also be a good spot for a night out in Boat Quay.
About $30++ per person excluding alcoholic beverages.
