Revolution Coffee

by URBAN JOURNEY

MEDIA CIRCLE – It’s not just the awesome coffee by Sydney’s Single Origin Roasters that draws people out to this Media Circle java joint, it’s also the funky decor and great menu. If you’re looking for an out-of-the-way spot to get your caffeine buzz on and dig into great grub, Revolution Coffee ticks quite a few boxes.

Why you should come here:

Step inside the industrial-chic space in Infinite Studios and you are greeted with concrete floors and cool wall art by local street artist SKLO, bustling baristas behind state-of-the-art brewing machines, and rustic tables propped up by beer crates. Indonesian-born owner Ajie Permana spent a year in Australia studying cafe culture, so you can expect to find plenty of hipster influences along with damn good coffee, cakes, sandwiches and all-day breakfast dishes.

What we love:

The baristas here can help you pick your poison based on your flavour preferences, so depending on your taste or mood of the day, they can hook you up with a rich and robust flat white or a velvety cold brew. Foodwise, shouts go out to their refreshing Thai Beef Salad, as well as their Gula Melaka Pancakes with bananas and coconut whipped cream and their lovely Banana Bread.

UJ tidbit:

It’s a bit of a trip to get out here, and they’re only open during business hours, so you’ll probably want to take a taxi. However if you want to make the trek on your own, you can take the shuttle bus from the One North MRT station. But if you’re into your coffee, do make the trip down.
