Grissini

Get your grill on at this under the radar contemporary Italian restaurant. It specialises in premium meats and seafood that are cooked to perfection in a Josper oven (a fancy chef-y piece of kit that combines a grill and oven in one). The menu is packed with comforting favourites like pasta and pizza, but we recommend sampling the seafood. In particular, the roast Atlantic cod with mashed potato, sautéed baby spinach, white asparagus, and saffron sauce sounds divine, while the signature dish of Mediterranean octopus tentacle served with carrot mousseline, datterini tomato, roasted ratte potatoes, and basil oil dressing is a must order.

A modern all-day dining restaurant on the periphery of the dynamic Financial District; Café 2000 serves up bumper plates of delicious Asian and Western inspired seafood treats. Premium lobster seafood fried rice, grilled Arctic halibut fillet, and the signature premium lobster laksa are not to be missed. And for busy urbanites, the Executive Set Lunch is ideal when you’re in a rush. However, the real magic happens on Fridays and Saturdays thanks to the weekend seafood and barbeque buffet where you can feast on slipper lobster, jumbo prawns, clams, Norwegian salmon, US rock oysters, sashimi, Alaskan snow crab and more ‘til your heart (and your stomach!) is content.

Pince & Pints

We’re huge fans of this casual joint that serves up super fresh lobster and other crackin’ crustaceans. You can also rest easy in the knowledge that only suppliers championing sustainable fishing methods are used by the kitchen team. It goes without saying that lobster is a must-try, and the signature dish of chilli lobster (a play on Singapore’s iconic chilli crab) is drool-worthy. The special house-made chilli paste is created using roma tomatoes, ginger, lemongrass, garlic, ketchup, and a few secret ingredients, resulting in a tart, slightly sweet, punchy sauce. Mop up the remains with the accompanying obligatory mantou. Yum.

Dancing Crab

Leave your table manners at the door and get your hands messy at Dancing Crab. Needless to say, the star of the show here is, quelle surprise, chilli crab! Opt for the signature dish of the chilli crab bread bowl and get ready for a fiery flavour punch that’ll knock your socks off. It’s served with two whole crabs and prepared using traditional Singaporean techniques with a highly addictive sauce that you’ll return for time and again. Made using fresh Roma tomatoes, pomelo, oranges, lemongrass, ginger flower, yellow ginger, and chilli padi you’ll notice the heat intensify with every mouthful. Not for the faint of heart! Thankfully it’s served with a bread bowl that quells the spice levels and is the perfect vessel for mopping up the spoils.

Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew Cuisine

Feeling fancy? Indulge and get your Teochew seafood fix at Michelin-starred Imperial Treasure. The menu is brimming with tantalising dishes, but we say save space for the chilled red flower crab Teochew style. Imported from Hong Kong, you’ll find the meat is sweeter than the more commonly used blue crab and has a more enjoyable texture. Sounds divine, don’t mind if we do…
