Add These Epic Upcoming Music Festivals in Asia to Your Bucket List

If there’s anything better than an epic music festival, we don’t know what it is! Think mind-melting beats by world-renowned DJs, rocking rhythms by edgy indie bands, mind-expanding light shows and art installations, and the chance to dance for days with thousands of other like-minded party peeps. Lucky for us Asia has some of the best music festivals on the planet, and this year we plan to hit up as many as we can. If you’re itching to get your groove on under the skies and do some insane partying that goes above and beyond any nightclub experience, then you need to put these awesome Asian music festivals on your bucket list.

Sunburn has been around for 11 years and is still going strong thanks to their ever-progressing immersive experiences. This year the festival has a new home at the Oxford Golf Resorts in Pune, plus a slew of new technologies and themes to create an epic experience unlike any before.

Fuji Rock Festival

What better way to celebrate summer than rocking out at Japan’s biggest outdoor music festival? Held at the Naeba Ski Resort, Japan Fuji Rock brings together hot and happening Japanese artists as well as international superstars. The lineup for 2019 has yet to be announced, but last year they brought in big names like Kendrick Lamar, Bob Dylan, and Skrillex, so you can bet this year will be just as enticing. ULTRA Music Festival

ULTRA Music Festival is one of the biggest EDM music festival networks on the planet with worldwide tours that stop in cities on nearly every continent. In Asia you can follow the festival trail from Beijing to Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and of course right here in Singapore. If you’ve never been to an ULTRA festival before, you’re in for a treat. Expect some of the hottest, most sought-after DJs, insane audio-visual displays, and tons of peeps to party your butt off with. Sónar Hong Kong

 

More than just a music festival, Sónar aims to bring together all sorts of creative types for a celebration of electronic music, technology, and innovative ideas. The festival got its start in Barcelona in 1994, and will be throwing down its third edition in Hong Kong this April. Head down to the Hong Kong Science Park to catch an eclectic lineup of DJs and live acts, as well as fun and inspiring workshops and talks where you can get inspired by forward-thinking movers and shakers.

 

Great Wall Festival

A massive music festival on one of the world’s most famous monuments? Um, yes please. The Great Wall Festival is a relative newbie to the region, but already picking up steam for its amazing location on the Great Wall of China and cool music lineups. The 2018 lineup included artists like Nina Kraviz, Dixon, And Carl Craig, so you can expect more of the same caliber for the 2019 edition.

We the Fest

 

Celebrate summer time vibes at We the Fest, an annual happening in Jakarta that highlights music, arts, fashion, and food. Groove out to some of the regions hottests artists who represent a mish-mash of genres including rock, pop, indie, hip hop, and EDM. You can also feast your eyes on cool contemporary artworks, catch some indie flicks, stuff your face with awesome Indonesian and Western food, and even nail some tricks in the skatepark.

World DJ Festival

 

What started as a small electronic music add-on to another festival in Seoul has now become South Korea’s biggest annual EDM event. Usually held over two days in May, the festival attracts thousands of party peeps from around the world who come to see world-class legends hit the decks. Past artists have included Donald Glaude, Rabbit in the Moon, Adam F, and Superheadz.
