When it comes to Singapore dining guides, the River Valley hood often gets lumped into Robertson Quay, but we reckon it deserves a spot all to itself because this centrally located area has tons of great restaurants and cafes just waiting to be explored. Whether you’re looking for a quaint hideaway to pop into for a coffee and croissant or a lively lunch or dinner destination where you can feast on delicacies from around the world, you’ll find something to satisfy all tastes at these terrific River Valley haunts.
Step inside Artisan Boulangerie Co. and the first thing that hits you is the heavenly aroma of freshly baked breads and pastries. Head up to the counter and you can order loaves of sourdough, olive bread, and baguettes to go or grab a coffee and settle in with sweet treats or some of their fine bistro fare. The brekky dishes are particularly good with offerings like eggs and avo on toast, eggs bennies, and big breakfast plates with all the fixings.

Freshly Baked by Le Bijoux
This unassuming bakery on the corner of Exeter and Kilenny Road is a little gem. You'll find freshly baked breads, pastries and wholesome sandwiches at affordable prices. The BLT gets rave reviews, as does the chocolate cake made with rich Belgian cocoa.
Seafood fanatics will be happy to know that Greenwood Fish Market has opened another locale in Valley Point Shopping Centre and it’s pretty freaking sweet. The spacious dining room has plenty of room to spread out, so you can gather your gang and dig into shared small plates like oysters on ice, fried calamari, and pan-seared scallops, plus platters of seafood plucked fresh from the displays and cooked to order. They also have a retail section with superb seafood to go, a sashimi counter, and a wine shop on site.
There’s nothing really fancy about this Japanese chain restaurant; just basic, decent sashimi, sushi, and set menus with specialties like soba noodles, pork katsu and robatayaki style dishes. We wouldn’t go out of our way to eat here, but if you’re in the River Valley hood and the sushi craving hits, this is a solid place to get your maki and nigiri fix. Be sure to check out the specials menu because they often have great deals going on.
