We love seeing the city come to life with colourful celebrations and having a great excuse to indulge in great food and drink with family, friends and colleagues. The views aren’t the only draw at 665°F, a lofty new spot on Level 38 of the Andaz Singapore that offers stellar vistas of the Singapore skyline. Adding to the allure is an intimate 30-seat dining room and an open kitchen where the chefs grill up premium halal-certified meats and seafood on a Pira oven and grill set to a temperature of 665°F (hence the name). Start with some delicately seasoned seafood like paper-thin slices of Lime-cured King Fish before moving on to thick steaks grilled to perfection with a series of mouthwatering sides.

Bakery & Bar
You may know 112 Telok Ayer as The Muffinry, a shophouse bakery offering delicious homemade muffins and sweet treats. Well they’ve recently undergone a facelift and rebranded themselves as Bakery & Bar, a cool cafe and restaurant where you can still get those famous fluffy muffins, as well as fresh homemade breads and savoury dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Come during the day for coffee, sandwiches and salads or pop by in the evening for a craft beer, glass of wine, tasty tapas and pizzas. They’ve also added extra seating upstairs on the mezzanine and second floor.

Officially opened last month, Cast Iron is a Japanese omakase grill spot located at DUO Galleria. Grab a seat on the patio outside, or head indoors to their softly lit space awash in dark wooden furniture and Japanese dragon murals. The top-notch ingredients here are flown in on a regular basis and include fresh seafood for sushi and sashimi and primo cuts of meat including Iberian pork and USDA prime tomahawk grilled in either the robata or gaucho style and served with your choice of straight-up sea salt, chimichurri sauce or bone marrow butter.

It’s a new year and a new look for the Shangri-la Hotel Singapore with a brand new F&B concept in their recently renovated Tower Wing. Origin Bar & Grill is actually two separate spaces, both boasting ample space and gorgeous art deco design and decor. Origin Bar offers contemporary cocktails inspired by Singapore’s five key historic districts, while Origin Grill is a swank seafood and steak house with an impressive selection of sustainable line-caught fish and grain and grass-fed Angus and Wagyu cattle from Australia, Ireland and Japan.

We were always fans of Cocotte in Little India for their insanely good rustic roasted chicken, and were pretty disappointed when it shut its doors. So you can imagine our joy when we heard that Chef Anthony Yeoh is at it again along with Chef Christopher Soh, roasting up golden, crispy-skinned birds at a new casual French bistro called Summer Hill. This 30-seater spot keeps it simple with just a few comfort food dishes that change regularly like the lovely Poulet Rôti, quiches, croissants and sides like roasted baby potatoes and green beans.

You might say that 2018 is the year of the steak in Singapore, as there are tons of meat-centric spots opening up around town including Wakanui, a sleek and sexy spot serving up tender, juicy steaks straight out of New Zealand. The restaurant originally opened in Tokyo where it soon became one of the hottest steakhouses in the city, and we can already see it winning scores of meat-loving fans here in Singapore. Must-tries include the Steamed Green Lip New Zealand Mussels and for carnivorous cravings, the 21-day, Dry-aged, Bone-in Ocean Beef Ribeye.
