CBD - Artemis Grill is at the top of its game, quite literally – it is located at the top of one of the CBD’s newest developments, CapitaGreen. Take the escalator up 40 floors and you arrive at a massive 15,000 square-metre space set in architect Toyo Ito’s Sky Forest. It goes without saying that the views here are nothing short of impressive, and the modern Mediterranean menu and smooth service are just as noteworthy. We visited this sky-high oasis on a Friday night and sat outside in the bar area. While the interior is a much more formal affair with plush seating and wine glasses on the tables, we rather liked that the outside was a bit more casual with amazing views of MBS and the CBD. Huge fans added a gentle cooling breeze and there was decent music in the background, which added to the overall atmosphere.
The menu here has a little bit of something for everyone and aims to offer good food that is also good for you and the Earth. The veggies are organic when available and sourced from local farms; the meats are from grass-fed and hormone-free animals; and the seafood is sustainable. They also offer organic and biodynamic wines from the Mediterranean.
Why you should come here
If you’re looking to have dinner with a small group of friends – six is a good number. We recommend sitting outside, as it’s a much more casual and relaxed ambiance than indoors. If you’re looking for a spot with a good vibe, views and food, this is definitely for you. It's also a great spot for a business lunch or dinner.
Overall, we found the food to be full of flavour and most importantly, fresh! Of course, not everything on the menu is for everyone but 80% of what we ate was great.
What we love
It's a classy spot. The ambiance is nice and the view is stunning .The outdoor bar is a great spot to hang out too. We see ourselves coming here for after-work drinks in the future.
Some highlights included the fresh and flavourful Alaskan King Crab Salad ($28) artfully presented with grilled pimento peppers, avocado and tomato petals, the Spicy Iberico Pork Presa ($40), which really packed some heat, and the Welsh Lamb Saddle ($58) with a cooling mint yogurt and herbaceous gremolata. The Chargrilled Spanish Octopus ($22) is super tender and a must. For dessert, do go for the Cheese Platter ($20). The cheeses were fresh and delicious and the portions were generous.
Vegetarians should also note that they have a number of tempting side dishes you can order as well as some veggie appetizers and a pasta, so you don’t need to miss out on this option. And for the tipplers, they have a HUGE wine list so wine connoisseurs will have a ton of options to choose from with vinos starting from $65, which we found very reasonable, all the way up to four-digit bottles.
UJ Tidbit: Check it out for both lunch and dinner if you can. The ambiance is different at both times of day. Both are great experiences that are definitely worth trying.
Set lunches are $45++ for 2 courses and $50++ for 3 courses, otherwise expect to pay $70++ per person excluding alcoholic beverages.
