When you need a solid spot to accommodate a large group of friends, Oasis at Grand Hyatt is the answer. From the minute you step out of the elevator into the back courtyard of the hotel, you’ll feel theholidayvibes thanks to the lush environment replete with tropical greenery and an aquamarine pool. Chuck a delectableBBQspread andfree-flowdrinks into the equation and you’ve got all the ingredients for a top night out (or daytime affair) far from the hustly-bustly city.
Our experience
We visited Oasis as part of abirthday bashand as there were 25 of us we booked the private gazebo in the back. We highly recommend doing this if you’re coming with a big group; the setting is beautiful and breezy and you get free access to the pool and butler service. Speaking of service, it’s right up there with what you would expect from an upscale hotel. Needless to say, we were well taken care of.
Food-wise, expect platters to come piled high with awesome eats like freshly shucked oysters, prawns, colourful salads, lamb chops, steaks, grilled veggies, and more. It really was a decadent spread, with more than enough food to ensure everyone left stuffed to the brim. The drink situation was equally epic. There’s lots to choose from including red and white wines, prosecco, and beer, and our cups were generously overflowing all night. We’ll admit the quality of the wine ain’t the best, but for $88 all in who’s complaining?
Why we’ll be back
The food was fab, the service was polished, and the atmosphere made us feel like we were somewhere other than the busy streets of Singapore. Plus the price for the BBQ dinner is ridiculously reasonable.
UJ Tidbit
The food is served in three-hour blocks, but you’re allowed to come earlier to get your drink on (gotta love that!). If you’re planning on coming with a group of 10 or more, ask to book the private gazebo; you can even play your own music back there.
