1. Bakery & Bar (previously The Muffinry)
You may know 112 Telok Ayer as The Muffinry, a shophouse bakery offering delicious homemade muffins and sweet treats. Well, they’ve recently undergone a facelift and rebranded themselves as Bakery & Bar, a cool cafe and restaurant where you can still get those famous fluffy muffins, as well as fresh homemade bread and savoury dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Come during the day for coffee, sandwiches and salads or pop by in the evening for a craft beer, glass of wine, tasty tapas and pizzas. Pop in for happy hour from 5pm – 8pm from Mon – Fri and enjoy $8 G&Ts or glasses or Prosecco or on Saturday from 2pm – 5pm. On those rough days opt in for their 2 hour free flow for $38.

2. LUXE
With its clean white interiors, light wooden furnishings and fresh modern Australian cuisine with Asian accents, Luxe wins big points with CBD noshers. The original cafe was born in Bondi, and this branch in The Working Capitol is their first overseas venture. They’ve also got 1-for-1 drinks from 4pm to 8pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

3. Blue Lotus Chinese Grill House
You may know of the Blue Lotus group from their flagship restaurant Blue Lotus Chinese Eating House on Sentosa where chef-owner Ricky Ng wows the crowds with his innovative new age Chinese cuisine. Well he’s now opened up a new venture in Tanjong Pagar Centre, which is great news for those who want to indulge in his flavour-packed creations without making the trek to Sentosa. Blue Lotus Chinese Grill House boasts a brand new modish menu, but you’ll still find familiar sauces and Chef Ricky’s signature spice blends. Best of all, they’ve got happy hour….ALL DAY LONG, with drinks starting at $8++.

Looking for some great happy hour specials? Soak in beautiful views of Singapore and escape the city at Spago. 5. Kinki
Despite having a rooftop patio where you can gaze out at Marina Bay and the CBD skyline, Kinki has a real underground feel to it with graffiti on the walls, a floor mural by tattoo artist Chris Garver from Miami Ink, paper lanterns emitting a soft red hue, and a modern Japanese menu offering Asian-inspired cocktails and bar bites. Be sure to stop by during happy hours from Monday to Saturday between 5pm and 8pm to take advantage of their 1-for-1 deals on selected beers, wines and spirits.

6. Sum Yi Tai
Paying homage to Hong Kong in the 1980s, Sum Yi Tai is a quirky Cantonese eating house and designer bar set in a three-story shophouse in the heart of Boon Tat. Each level has a different vibe, so you’ll find a dimly lit tapas bar decked out in dragons and vinyl roast ducks on the first level, an elegant dark green dining room with Chinese-style botanical paintings on the second level, and a cosy rooftop bar with views of the surrounding CBD on the upper level.
During happy hour, draft beers (Asahi, Kronenbourg Lager and Kronenbourg Blanc) are just $10++, a bucket of five bottles of Asahi Dry or Tsingdao go for $40++, and glasses of wine and sake are $10++. Tapas start at $9++.

7. Southbridge
Perched atop a heritage shophouse in Boat Quay, this lofty open-air locale offers panoramic views of the Singapore River, Marina Bay Sands and skyscrapers of the CBD. Definitely come during happy hour, which runs until 8pm on weekdays, as you can score plates of six oysters for $20++, bubbles like Bauget-Jouette Brut NV and Berlucchi Brut Rose for $20++ a glass, and spirits like Kakubin whisky, Sauza Silver tequila and Havana 3 rum for as low as $8++ a shot.

Morton’s is best known as a swanky American steakhouse serving up succulent steaks, seafood and fine wines, but what you might not know is that The Bar at Morton’s is a pretty sweet after-work drinks spot with great happy hour specials taking place every day of the week. 9. Le Beat Bespoke at Lulu’s Lounge
Wednesday at the hot new Lulu’s Lounge brings with it Le Beat Bespoke. The experience begins with two “social hours” of laidback live jazz performances and complimentary canapes to get guests in the mood. The 9 o’clock hour then rings in the start of complimentary free-flow prosecco for ladies. Lulu’s resident jazz duo Noelle and Josephine, along with the likes of Kaye from Singaporean electronic music label Darker Than Wax get the groove going well into Thursday morning.

10. Fat Prince
If you haven’t yet been to Fat Prince, an Istanbul-inspired cafe and bar by the same peeps behind Neon Pigeon, then now is definitely a good time to go because they’ve got an awesome Happy Hour special going on. Effective as of now, you can chill out in their colourful space amid floor-to-ceiling windows, mosaics and velvet-covered chairs while enjoying $10 Peroni Lagers, and house white and red wine, plus $12 spiked sodas in flavours like Orange & Cardamom, Peppermint & Lemon, and Turkish Tea & Ginger. Throw in some freshly baked pita bread with house-made hummus and you’ve got the perfect sipping and snacking scenario.

Humpback’s concept of a friendly neighbourhood seafood joint is really refreshing. The restaurant offers freshly shucked oysters flown in direct from the States alongside seafood, meat and veggie small plates. Humpback has a great Happy Hour on Monday and from 5pm to 8pm daily – $2 oysters and discounts on select cocktails, wines by the glass and draught beer…what’s not to love?

12. Jigger & Pony
If only all boutique cocktail bars could pull off mixology without an ounce of pretension the same way Jigger & Pony does. While the atmosphere is classy and cool and the drinks pure craftsmanship, there is a certain air of accessibility here, as the bartenders are warm and welcoming and happy to chat about what goes into each and every drink. Grab a seat at the bar and watch them whip up lovely libations with fresh herbs and luxe liquors. Happy hour is available from 6pm to 8pm where you can find cocktails for $15++ and beers & wines from $12 – $15.
