Steak and Wine
BisteccaTuscan Steakhouse
Most steakhouses you find around town are American style, but Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse takes the Italian route. The restaurant is currently undergoing a facelift that includes plenty of exposed brick and beams to match their overall rustic theme. However, the menu will stay the same with their signature Wagyu steaks seared to produce a crunchy char on the outside and finished over a wood fire. Start with a few martinis, then try the massive Fiorentina steak with your choice of side sauces and bottles of Italian wine.

Gordon Grill
Located in the Goodwood Hotel, Gordon Grill has been around for over 50 years, so it should come as no surprise that you’ll find more of an old fashioned vibe here with white tablecloths, artfully folded napkins and even a meat trolley service where chefs carve up roasts right your table. The prices here are pretty reasonable considering the quality of the meats and seafood is spot-on and the preparation and cooking is executed expertly. If you’ve got a big group of guys looking for a carnivorous feast, Gordon Grill is a great option.

L’Entrecôte at Duxton
Simplicity is the key at L’Entrecôte, a Parisian bistro style spot where the signature dish is entrecôte steak cooked to your preferred temperature and served with free-flow crispy golden fries, a fresh green salad, and lashings of their secret buttery sauce. They also have enticing appetizers like Homemade Foie Gras Terrine and Oven Baked Bone Marrow, as well as a carefully curated wine list with plenty of bottles of French vino, some of which come from their own wineries.

Boat Quay Bar Hopping
Boat Quay is one of our go-to spots in Singapore for bar hopping because you’re pretty much spoiled for choice when it comes to pubs, patios, and clubs here. We suggest starting the evening atBQ Barfor a few beers in a buzzy atmosphere, and then hitting up the drinking dens along the strip, eventually making your way toSkinny’sto end the evening with some karaoke, pool, and foosball.
Whiskey
Singapore has a slew of whiskey bars where you can sip on a few drams in celebration of a special event or just for an easygoing evening with the boys. The following are some of our favourites:
Poker Nights at Home
Chicken Up
For those nights when you’re having mates over and want to put out an easy-going spread, you can’t go wrong with Chicken Up, a contemporary Korean spot that specialises in chicken wings. Here they marinate the chicken for 12 hours in their special blend of spices, then deep fry it to crispy perfection. Go for the Spicy Yangnyum wings, the Gangjang wings in an umami soya blend or their signature Crispy Up half chicken. Wash it all down with some Watermelon Soju.
