It’s all about oysters and bubbles at Southbridge, a trendy rooftop hangout brought to us by the il Lido Group. Perched atop a heritage shophouse in Boat Quay, this lofty open-air locale offers panoramic views of the Singapore River, Marina Bay Sands and skyscrapers of the CBD. Order up a bottle of champers or one of their modern cocktails and sample fresh oysters, seafood creations, and contemporary bar bites as you gaze out at the city lights and stars twinkling all around.

The views are the number one draw at Southbridge, as you can see landmarks galore in every direction. The drinks list is imaginative and playful with artsy cocktails made with small-batch spirits and fresh tropical fruits, plenty of sparkling options like prosecco and Champagne, and hard-to-find sakes. The food is also fresh and modern with oysters done cold and hot with a variety of sauces and other easy-to-share plates like the lobster knuckle rolls, pulled pork sliders, and truffle and smoked pancetta blinis.
What we love:
If you love oysters, then you’re in for a treat because Southbridge flies them in fresh from oyster hotspots all around the world like New Zealand, France and Japan. Try their signature cold oysters with sauces like the Umami with ponzu and yuzu, Tropical with chili, garlic and calamansi lime, and Habana with mint, cucumber and vermouth. For the hot oysters our favourite is the Smoky Casino with smoked bacon and cheese.
Definitely come during happy hour, which runs until 8pm on weekdays, as you can score plates of six oysters for $20++, bubbles like Bauget-Jouette Brut NV and Berlucchi Brut Rose for $20++ a glass, and spirits like Kakubin whisky, Sauza Silver tequila and Havana 3 rum for as low as $8++ a shot.
Although Southbridge’s official address is in Boat Quay, you actually enter on South Bridge Road. Look for their small black plaque next to the lobby, then take the glass elevator up to the rooftop on the fifth floor.
