Since opening on Shenton Way in mid-2011, Jewel Coffee has without a doubt been the fuel that has powered us through many long work days, busy weekends, and sluggish afternoons. Before owner Adrian Khong opened our eyes to artisanal third-wave coffee, we were Starbucks drinkers (don’t judge us!), but we’re happy to say that we’re now total Jewel Coffee converts. If you’re looking for a sweet spot serving seriously strong coffee made with premium beans from around the world, then Jewel should definitely be on yourcaffeine fix hitlist.

Why you should come here:

The coffee. Their rotating roster of single origin beans from key coffee growing regions around the world are the highest quality, and the baristas are experts at roasting the beans in house and preparing the perfect cuppa whether with a Chemex, V60 or syphon. Each cup is also a double shot; if you love your coffee strong, welcome to your new mecca. Besides coffee they also offer tasty breakfast and lunch dishes, plus free Wi-Fi which makes it a great spot to hit up when we need to do some out of office work.

What we love:

When we used to work near Shenton Way, we would hit up Jewel Coffee nearly every day and sometimes even a few times a day. After moving offices, we weren’t able to frequent Jewel as much, but then we started to see new branches popping up more and more in convenient locations. They now have nine locations in Singapore, including Claymore Connect, Great World City (this is usually where you can find us on the weekends), Tanjong Pagar Centre right near our office, and in the CBD near The Working Capitol’s newest location on Robinson Road.

UJ Tidbit:

They have two choices of beans that they offer daily, and the selections are usually pretty unique. If they happen to have Brazilian beans when you visit, definitely try a cuppa made with those bad boys.

Damage:

Coffees average about $5 to $7, and a plate of food will set you back about $10 to $15.
