For the longest time we’d been hearing amazing things about the Supercharged Sunday Brunch at Oscar’s in the Conrad Centennial Hotel, so we decided it was high time we checked it out. What we found was a bright, buzzy spot with an impressive array of gourmet delicacies that had our mouths watering from the minute we stepped in the door. Honestly, this was one of the best brunch buffets we’ve had in a very long time, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a vibrant spread in an equally as vibrant place.
Why you should come here:
Oscar’s Sunday brunch definitely deserves the title of ‘supercharged’, as the variety and quality of the food is simply superb. You can go super healthy and start with freshly made shakes featuring superfoods like avocado, lychee, whey protein and Jarrah honey before moving on to salads with tons of toppings and fresh seafood like oysters, lobster and sashimi. However, if you want to indulge, you can also try decadent dishes like the Filipino-style Lechon de Leche (suckling pig), roasted London Duck, imported cheese and charcuterie, and delicious desserts.
What we love:
We found something we loved at pretty much every station, but a few of our favourites included the Eggs with Attitude station where you could order poached organic eggs with foie gras, mullet Bottarga or pancetta, the four-metre long salad bar where the Caesar salads are made in a parmesan wheel, and the charcoal BBQ grill offering grilled lobster and prime cuts of beef with homemade sauces like blue cheese and cognac, habanero tomatillo and an Asian coconut dip.
Two things you don’t want to skip here are the craft G&T bar with a truly unique liquid nitrogen gin sorbet and the over-the-top dessert station with all manner of sweets. Definitely try the traditional rum Gâteau Basque with vanilla sauce—we hear the recipe is from the Chef’s grandma
