Tiong Bahru Bakery

by URBAN JOURNEY

Tiong Bahru Bakery has become one of Singapore’s iconic and favourite go-to bakeries, offering some of the most mouth-watering pastries in town. From its humble beginnings of its first outlet in the rustic and now trendy neighbourhood of Tiong Bahru, it now has two outlets right smack in the middle of the city – TANGS Orchard and Raffles City Shopping Centre. Just the smell of coffee and freshly baked breads and pastries are enough to lure us for a bit of indulgence and we’re pretty sure you won’t be able to resist it as well.

What we love

There is an abundance of freshly baked breads, pastries and sandwiches to choose from – but more than the pastries and breads, we just love the sandwiches as they are unusual and fresh. Favourites include the Squid Ink Bun with Smoked Salmon and the Cereal bun with ham. It’s also a great spot for the coffee, which is Common Man Coffee Roasters. And, top it all off with the Almond Chocolate croissant.

Why you should come here:

With its locations in Orchard, Raffles City and Tiong Bahru, they are all pretty accessible. It’s a great place to pop by for a croissant and coffee on the go in the morning or for a fresh and reasonably priced sandwich on your lunch break. On the weekends, pop by the branch at Tiong Bahru for breakfast or brunch. It has a nice buzz as it gets quite packed.

UJ Tip:

The coffee is good – this is a must must must if you’re a coffee lover!
