You can’t miss the bright white facade of Whisk on the corner of Seng Poh Road and Lim Liak Street in the Tiong Bahru hood. Inside the modern minimalist theme continues, which allows you to focus more on the buttery croissants, rich cheesecakes and colourful macarons that come out of the glass-doored bakery and kitchen. They also do great coffees, breakfast sandwiches and light salads
Why you should come here:
Owner Tricia Lim left her career in marketing to study at the New York International Culinary Centre, and then did an internship at the Dominique Ansel Bakery where the cronut was invented before moving back to Singapore and opening Whisk. Her experience shows in her classic cakes, croissants and tarts, while her creativity comes into play with her seasonal creations.
What we love:
This charming little cafe in Tiong Bahru serves delicious coffee and cakes, and is a great place to take a mid-day break, chill out with a good book, or catch up with a friend or two. Some of our favourite treats here include the New York Style Cheesecake, which tastes just like the real deal, and the Aburi Garlic Aioli Chicken Salad with sesame dressing, homemade croutons and candied maple walnuts.
UJ tidbit:
If you’re craving a healthy breakfast, pop by for a bowl of their Brown Sugar Fruit and Nut Granola with homemade yoghurt and fresh berries. You can also grab bags of the granola to take home.
Damage:
A coffee and a slice of cake will cost you about $12++
