December has arrived, and you know what that means… let the festivities begin! There’s tons to celebrate this month and plenty of places to get your party on, so no excuses to be stuck at home this holiday season. We’ve rounded up some of the most happening events going on around the island including hopping markets, holiday festivals, late-night dance sessions with world-class DJs, grand opening parties, and more.
1 December – 9 December 2018
Still struggling to come up with great gift ideas? Well you’re in luck because there are tons of Christmas markets popping up this December where you can pick up unique presents like artisanal food products, hard-to-find wines, one-of-a-kind fashion and jewellery, and eco-friendly housewares. Some of the markets will also be throwing fun workshops and dance parties replete with DJs and drinks.
1 December – 31 December
Back for its fifth edition, Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay offers fun for all ages with dazzling light sculptures, an outdoor skating rink, Southeast Asia’s biggest mirror maze, Santa’s grotto, gourmet bites, and performances by luminaries like illusionist Rob Lake. Admission starts at just $4 and the festival runs all month long.
5 December – 25 December
The holiday cheer will be running high at Christmas in the Woods, a festive happening in the natural oasis of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Make your way to the rustic cabin-themed 1920s building and indulge in delish eats by Botanico and Bee’s Knees. There will also be fun activities for the little ones like gingerbread cookie decorating and a visit from Santa on Christmas day.
6 December
Tanglin are the creators of the first gin distilled right here in Singapore, and now the team has just released a new flavour: Tanglin Mandarin Chilli. To celebrate this new artisan spirit they’re throwing a launch party at The Spiffy Dapper where you can meet the gin makers themselves and sip on creative cocktails featuring the new flavour.
8 December
T-Party is back with another edition of amazing vibes, music and drinks. This time they’ll be taking over Owl Bar with five different DJs throwing down the latest house, tech house, trance, acid house, progressive, and electro beats. The party kicks off at 7pm and runs until late and entry is free no matter what time you rock up.
8 December
Noon to Moon with Emanuel Satie
Sunshine Nationis famous for their daytime parties, and Noon to Moon which they run in partnership with CÉ LA VI, is one of the best. Overlooking the city skyline, this all-day electro event will showcase German DJ Emanuel Satie, who is making waves in the electronic scene for his soulful house and techno sounds. 8 December
After seven and a half years on Kampong Bugis Road, Kilo Kitchen is reopening in the Duxton Hill hood and we can’t wait to see the new space. The grand opening is on December 8th and guests who dine at Kilo Kitchen that night will also get free entry toGOING on TWO with Patrick Topping (UK) and James Riachat Kilo Lounge after.

Lobsters, Oysters, Wines & Spirits Festival at habitat by honestbee
December is about to get a whole lot more decadent with fab new offerings from habitat at honestbee. This supermarket and dining destination is getting into the Christmas spirit by offering choice lobsters, oysters, fresh seasonal produce, and fine wines and spirits at great prices. 9 December
Celebrate the freedom of self expression through costumes, movement, and music at We Dance. This December We Dance is teaming up with LOOP, a month-long lifestyle pop-up festival featuring local craft and wellness experiences that champion sustainability awareness. The dance session starts at sunset on December 9th with beats by DJ Bamsee and it is open to all ages. Tickets are $20 or free for anyone under the age of 18.
13 December
The Kevin Hart Irresponsible Tour
Get ready to have your sides split because comedian Kevin Hart is coming to Suntec Convention Centre for one hilarious night. The show is part of his Irresponsible Tour, which has brought his unique brand of humour to cities around the world. Tickets are on sale now, but you’ll want to pick yours up soon because they’re selling out fast.
15 December
Do your part for the environment this December by joining Seven Clean Seas on a massive beach clean-up. The crew will meet at Constant Wind at 9am on December 15 for a safety briefing, then it’s off to the beach to scour the sand for rubbish. Be sure to bring safety gloves, sunscreen, and closed-toe shoes. Refreshments are on offer afterwards to celebrate a job well done.
15 December
Little City, Big Dreams DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs Voting Party
Voting for DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs has begun, and CÉ LA VI is celebrating with a Little City, Big Dreams party featuring DJ Frame. Last year, CÉ LA VI climbed 13 steps to become the #67 club in the world, and this year they’re dreaming even bigger, hoping to put this little city on the global nightlife map. 16 December
Four Hand Dinner with FOC and Spago by Wolfgang Puck
Every month FOC throws a special culinary event where they invite guest chefs to collaborate on a decadent dinner. This month Chef Jordi will be joined by Chef de Cuisine of Spago Singapore, Greg Bess. Expect a fantastic fusion of modern interpretations. The dinner is priced at $88++ and reservations are essential.
