There’s so much going on in Singapore this October that we don’t even know where to start! From harrowing Halloween parties to fun festivals celebrating craft spirits and wine, fab film screenings, and edgy art fairs, there’s something to suit all sorts. If you’re looking to fill up your calendar this month, these are some of the hottest events going on around the island.

1 October – 31 October 2018

Halloween Horror Nights

It’s that time of year again when Universal Studios gets downright scary with Halloween Horror Nights, a full month of frightening freakshows, spine-tingling haunted houses, and ghoulish games. Roam the grounds and you’ll come across all sorts of thrills and chills including zombie laser tag tournaments, creepy cannibal clans, and eerie interactive experiences. We recommend saving Pontianak and Stranger Things for the last two houses resepctively.

DFS Craft Festival at Changi Airport

Planning to jet off somewhere this next month? If so, be sure to check out the inaugural DFS Craft Festival going on at Changi Airport. Taking place across all terminals, the festival invites travellers to taste and engage with over 73 craft spirits and meet specialist craft distillers from around the globe. Top brands to be highlighted include Whitley Neill, Oxley Gin, Botanist, and Copper Dog to name just a few.

Archifest at The Projector

Singapore’s annual architecture festival has teamed up with The Projector to present an array of eye-opening films that follow the theme of ‘Design for the People’. Shown over two days, each fascinating film touches on how design can be a tool that shapes people’s lives with the goal of making you look at the way we live from a whole new perspective.

Pink Ribbon Walk 2018

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and one way to show your support is to join the Pink Ribbon Walk organised by the Breast Cancer Foundation. Both the 3.5-kilometre walk and slightly more challenging 5-kilometre run start at the Singapore Sports Hub in OCBC Square at 4pm, and all proceeds go towards raising awareness about this life-threatening disease.

Urban Ventures

Head down to Temple Street for the last edition of Urban Ventures for 2018 for an afternoon of art, music and local culture. The party starts at 4pm and goes through 10:30 pm.

Chef Jay Morjaria at Neon Pigeon

Moonlight Cinema

This October, the Singapore International Film Festival is partnering with Gardens by the Bay to offer two free outdoor movie screenings in a spectacular setting. On October 26 the series kicks off with a screening of My Girl (USA) followed by My Girl (Thailand) on the evening of October 27.
