Asia’s 50 best restaurants 2018 have just been announced and seven restaurants in Singapore made the cut. That’s down from nine restaurants who earned the accolade in 2017. So who on the Red Dot upped their game, and who fell out of the 50? Here’s the full lowdown…
The best restaurants in Singapore (and indeed Asia) are officially:
50. Whitegrass (new entry)
44. Jaan (ranked 42 in 2017)
36. Corner House (ranked 23 in 2017)
29. Les Amis (ranked 16 in 2017)
23. Waku Ghin (ranked 20 in 2017)
12. Burnt Ends (ranked 10 in 2017)
5. Odette (ranked 9 in 2017)
Tippling Club andShinji by Kanesakawho both made the grade in 2017 didn’t make the cut this year, and Singapore’s best restaurant of 2017, Restaurant Andre, has (sadly for us) closed. Though congrats to Andre Chang for bagging the Diner’s Club Lifetime Achievement Award.
So there you have it, Odette is Singapore’s best restaurant – congratulations! And hats off to Gaggan Anand for scooping the coveted top spot for a fourth consecutive year. If you ever needed an excuse to visit Bangkok, a reservation at Gaggan is surely it (be quick, that’s set to shut up shop in 2020 too!).
