Singapore’s hoods seem to go through the motions, meaning they’ll be hot and happening for a few years and then they’ll die down. However, one hood that seems to be back on the rise is Ann Siang Hill. We used to hang here a few years ago when The Screening Room was in its prime, and over the past year we’ve been drawn back time and time again thanks to the opening of Ann Siang House. Set in a gorgeous heritage shophouse, this cool lifestyle destination boasts spacious and stylishhotel roomsand a slew of sweet spots to get youreatanddrinkon.

A great place to start your Urban Journey of Ann Siang House is atThe Other Roof, a beguiling rooftop bar brought to us by the same folks behindThe Other Room.Let bartender Dario Knox whip you up a custom cocktail made with tea-infused spirits. In fact, the bar houses over 400 different spirits all finished with tea. One of our favourite concoctions is the Teaspresso Martini made with Patron XO, cold brew coffee, and tiramisu tea vodka.

If wine is more your style, make your wayPandora’s Garden. Just like the name suggests, this lovely spot is a garden oasis in the middle of the city. Grab a seat under the fairy lights next to the frangipani tree and peruse the wine list, which has a strong focus onroséwines including some great sparkling pink options. You can also grab picnic-style snacks like the ploughman’s platter loaded with cold cuts, cheeses, crackers, and bread. It is in the back of the hotel and it really gives you a relaxed backyard style vibe.

For a heartier feed, pop intoBlue Label Pizza & Wine. This basement hideaway has a cool underground vibe and offers up a mix of traditional and innovative artisan pizzas. Take for example The White Label with béchamel, boursin, goat’s cheese, garlic, leeks, and fried rosemary. Be warned though, this place tends to get packed. You might be lucky to snag some bar seating if you walk in, but if you’re in a group, you gotta plan. We highly recommend making advanced bookings and definitely indulge in their spinach dip and soft serve ice cream.

Finish your night atWhite Label Recordswhere you can groove to funky beats while sipping on craft cocktails and poring over the eclectic record collection. They often have guest DJs hit the decks including international artists who happen to be in town. And for all the vinyl junkies out there, the space is part record shop, so you can pick up some great finds to add to your music collection. It’s pretty laid back, so if that’s your thing this spots for you.

After all that eating, drinking, and rocking out, we wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to check in for a night atAnn Siang House. Choose from a variety of themed rooms including the Active Studio decked out with fitness essentials like yoga mats and AB rollers or the Well-being Suite designed to help you find your zen with a massage spa chair, aroma burner, and organic teas. And if you have friends or family coming to visit for an extended period of time, we suggest the Culinary Studio with its own fully-equipped kitchen.
