Frédéric Colin has created a little corner of Paris right here in Singapore at Brasserie Gavroche, his quaint Tras Street eatery featuring vintage furniture, black and white photos on the walls, and a menu boasting recipes inspired by his grandfather Henri. You’ll find all the classics like Soupe à l’oignon, Salade Niçoise and Steak Frites et sauce Béarnaise along with fine French wines and artisan cheeses.
Why you should come here:
If you’re looking for an authentic French meal in a charming setting, this is your spot. Inside you’ll find leather banquettes, mosaic tiled floors and a wooden bar dating back to the 1930s. Start your meal with some freshly shucked oysters or foie gras, move on to a Pan Roasted Rabbit Saddle with sautéed apples and Duchesse potatoes, and finish your meal off with a Tahitian Vanilla Mille-feuille with cherry compote. Just make sure to wear your stretchy pants or you may have some trouble trying to drag yourself out of your seat.
What we love:
This is French food done really, really well in a quintessential French ambiance. We definitely have our favourites like the cheese platter, escargot and steak and frites, however, Chef Frédéric also offers seasonal specials, so there is always something new to try. They also have a great wine selection that goes well with the food.
