Why you should come here:
This is an easy go-to Italian spot in Robertson Quay where you can linger over a few glasses of wine and cheese plates with friends or have a long leisurely Italian meal. It’s open all day too, so you can pop in for lunch or some light bites that are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and priced very reasonably. They also have a small retail section where you can pick up authentic Italian products like olive oil, pasta, cold cuts and cheese.
What we love:
Luca uses top-notch Italian ingredients, and those flavours shine through in the dishes. Try the deep-fried Mozzarella Ball stuffed with parma ham, sundried tomatoes and basil, the Homemade Ravioli packed with spinach and buffalo ricotta cheese and topped with tomato sauce or the Stewed Italian Octopus with olives and capers in a light tomato sauce. We also love that there are daily specials to choose from and the fact that just like the food, the wines won’t break the bank.
UJ Tidbit:
This is a great little after-work spot, especially during their daily happy hour. Head down from 5pm – 8pm from Tues through Friday or from 12pm to 11pm on Sat & Sun to get fine Italian wines for $7++ a glass or $40++ a bottle. If you’re feeling peckish, go for the DIY antipasto where you can choose one mozzarella, one cold cut and one side dish for just $28++.
Damage:
About $30 to $35 per person for an app and a main, not including wine.
