THE SCOOP: The word is out—Shake Shack is opening its second outlet in Tanjong Pagar at The Working Capitol on 89 Neil Road, so you no longer have to head to Jewel Changi Airport to get that burger, hot dog or frozen custard fix! The new location is opening this Friday, February 7, at 7:30pm and we’re sure the place is going to be hopping.
SPC Group, which operates Paris Baguette, brought Shake Shack over to Singapore earlier this year and it’s been crazy busy since opening its doors. They’re planning to open a total of 10 on the island over the next few years. Word on the street is the second Singapore Shake Shack will be utterly unique with cool design elements and new menu options, some that were created with local tastes in mind.
Firstly, we’ll see the debut of the highly-anticipated Chick’n ShackTM, an all-natural, antibiotic-free chicken breast slow-cooked in a creamy buttermilk marinade and crisp-fried. The chicken is then topped with shredded lettuce, pickles and a tangy buttermilk herb mayo and served on a pillowy potato roll. It will be available exclusively at the Neil Road locale from February 7 to 9, then at Jewel Changi as well from February 10 onwards.
Then there are two new exclusive Shake Shack concretes based on local flavours. The Eye of the Tiger features vanilla custard blended with lychee, raspberry and shortbread, and is topped with lime zest. The Open Sesame is a dreamy blend of vanilla custard with black sesame paste and vanilla brownies topped with black sesame seeds and gold-dusted chocolate.
We also love that the brand is supporting the local arts and heritage scene with Peranakan-inspired architecture, a mural by Singaporean artist Sam Lo that features Chinese symbols and motifs, and a programme that donates 5% of sales from the Shack Attack concrete to Very Special Arts Singapore (VSA), a non-profit organisation providing opportunities for the disabled through arts.
The second Shake Shack will open its doors at 7:30pm sharp on February 7th. Hope to see you all there!
