The verdict is in—we think oat milk deserves every last bit of hype it’s getting in the Singapore cafe scene right now. Not only is this non-dairy milk rich, creamy and delicious (making it perfect for lattes and cappuccinos), but it’s completely plant-based, gluten-free and sustainable. In terms of nutrition it contains less fat and more fibre and iron than regular milk and more protein than most plant-based milks.
If you’re trying to cut back on animal products, have allergies or food sensitivities to nuts, soy or gluten, or are vegan and looking for a more earth-friendly alternative to nut milks, we highly suggest giving oat milk a try. Papa Palheta has always been at the forefront of the artisan coffee scene, so it should come as no surprise that they offer Minor Figures oat milk to go with your espresso or hand-brewed drip coffee at their flagship spot, Chye Seng Huat Hardware. Java junkies flock to Common Man Coffee Roasters for their excellent specialty coffee made with top-notch sustainably sourced beans from around the world. For espresso blends the baristas use the Synesso machine and for single origins it’s either filtered or made using pour-over methods. Alternative milks including oat milk are available on request.

Craftsmen Specialty Coffee
If you’re somewhat of a single origin snob, then you’ll love Craftsmen Specialty Coffee, as they only source single origin beans from renowned coffee growers in Brazil, Guatemala, Sumatra and Ethiopia. Grab a quick oat milk latte to go from any of their six locations or if you have more time, settle in for a cuppa and a slice of cake.

Located above Common Man Coffee Roasters cafe and next to the Yoga Movement studio, this is another venture by CMCR, but with a healthier twist. The drink menu features smoothies, fresh juices and coffees with your choice of regular, soy, almond or oat milk. And if you’ve worked up an appetite in yoga class, you can refuel with a healthy salad, poke bowl or falafel burger.

Step into Singapore’s only African-inspired cafe and you’ll find warm wood, exposed bricks, colourful textiles and plenty of cosy corners to relax and enjoy a freshly brewed cuppa. On the menu are the usual coffee drinks like espressos, flat whites and mochas, as well as cold brews, chai tea and nitro coffee. Regular milk can be swapped out for oat milk on request.
